not for your 4yr oldAug 31, 2009
By Chelsie J. Kerns My 4yr old is too old for this toy. She loves singing, so I thought this micophone would be perfect, but the music is more for a 1-3yr old.

Everything but a microphone.Feb 26, 2010
By Shawn Milochik

It lights up (with practically seizure-inducing strobe effects). It plays music. But it's worthless as a microphone. Despite the fact that the music is pretty loud, I can't even hear my own voice coming out of the speaker unless I yell or cup my hands around the microphone and talk into it.
I bought this for my son who getting close to learning to talk. I wanted him to hear his own voice coming out of it so it would encourage him to jabber more. For this, it's completely worthless.
Maybe if it wasn't shaped like a microphone it could get four or five stars as a kids' musical toy. But as a microphone, it's worthless.

As a Special Educator this toy is VERY useful!Mar 26, 2012
By Jared Mezzine Got very lucky when i found this deal. It is a great and useful toy and very versatile as well. I specialize in teaching children their ABC's and how to read and I am ALWAYS on the lookout for a good toy to use during my sessions. This michrophone is currently my favorite. Its colorful and fun and my kids LOVE screaming out their A-B-C's. I am also able to use it during music therapy sessions and it is always very helpful. This is a great specialty toy and after buying one I bought another five. Gonna use this for years! 5 stars!
