Great toy, doesn't stink at all!Dec 30, 2007
By Elena The piano mat is a great toy. Both of my kids who love music and dancing enjoy it a lot.
In reference to the comment about a toxic smell: the piano mat doesn't smell at all (and I am very sensitive to that). May be it was another brand, but the piano made by Smart Planet and sold by Back to Basics doesn't have any toxic or other smell. By the way it's cheaper on Amazon than their own website.

Piano MatJan 24, 2007
By K. George I like the features of this piano, but the white part of the keys is quite small, making it difficult to play a song with your feet. My 3-year-old son loves playing the demo songs, but for that a regular-sized keyboard would do. This is a fine product as long as you don't want to actually play a song with your feet, and just want to jump around on it. There is also a nice feature where you can play each note of a demo song one-by-one by hitting any key.

Piano HitNov 01, 2010
By J. Bergeron I ordered this piano for a party, which had about 40 children ages 15 and under. To my surprise the toy held up to many, many children playing on it. There were even times where there was lack of supervision and more than one child was on the mat at once and still the toy held up. At times, there were even grown ups and older children playing some well known tunes on the mat. At the end of the night, the piano was still playing clearly and with a quick wipe off with a wet cloth, was in great condition. If it can hold up to that kind of use, or maybe you can say, misuse, I believe it's a durable and fun toy.

So Much Fun!Nov 12, 2007
By shopaholic I bought the piano as a gift for my 4 yr old niece for her birthday. She hasn't received it yet but I have been playing it just for fun to try it out. I LOVE it and can't wait to see how much fun she's going to have on it. It's so easy to figure out (didn't come with directions? not sure why). It is similar to a keyboard where you can change up the instrument sound. The piano keys can become a drum, a trumpet and a couple other instruments. I would absolutely buy this again as a gift!! It also has volume controls that worked great. Everything is operated by your feet.

slip slidin' awayJan 12, 2008

the idea of this toy is great... the reality however, with two very active kids, not so much.
The kids played with it for about 4 minutes and then started sliding on it across the floor.
Although they "made it work" for them, I wasn't so thrilled as I wanted something a bit more
contained.
I think if there was some way to make it "stay put" it would be more fun.
