This toy is really cool and my 2 year old loves it. We love the way it swivels around and is very realistic. I am not quite sure how durable it is yet as the very first day we had it, my little boy popped the door off repeatedly (and lost it). It is not made of hard plastic, kind of a more pliable type, so not sure how much wear and tear it will withstand. Perhaps best used in a sand box instead of in dirt or mud since it is not made of a very strong plastic.

I got this toy for my 2 year old that loves tractors and excavators - he has played with it almost every day since we got it. It has been 5 months - and it is always breaking. The plastic parts are just not meant for the wear that kids put on these types of toys - and if is wasn't an expensive toy I might understand. I really thought this was a top of the line product though, so I was surprised.
Needless to say I am going to buy another one because the kids love it. But I don't like replacing a toy after 5 months.

I bought this for my nearly two year old for Christmas, and he has played with it a lot over the past 6 months. It is a nice compromise between being a functional excavator and being toddler friendly. My four year old doesn't play with it much, but then he is not so digging obsessed. It's fun in the house, at the beach, and, alas, in mommy's planters.

My three year old loves this excavator, but it does not bend enough to pick up blocks or lincoln logs very well from the floor. It does work great in the sandbox though.

We purchased this for our grandson, and loves it; he's been into trucks since the age of 2 and he has played with this continually since Christmas.
