Great toy - with a lot of assembly required.Dec 26, 2006
By P. Siravo We bought this castle for our 4-year old who liked to play "war" with his sister's dollhouse - something she didn't particularly appreciate. He loves the toy and spent an entire afternoon creating battles the first day he got it.
HOWEVER...this requires a long assembly process, although the box doesn't even say "some assembly required". The assembly is very simple, but it just takes awhile. Pre-assembly is highly recommended unless your child is incredibly patient. Beware of the huge number of tiny pieces, too. Don't let your child open the plastic bags before you're ready to use the parts.
Based on our son's enjoyment, however, the assembly time is worth it. The toy is sturdy and fun.

not like the playmobile I had when I was a kidOct 28, 2007
By Frank D. Grove We got this for my sons fifth birthday because I remember how much I loved playing with playmobile as a kid. Both of my boys loved playing with the castle once we finally got it put together. The problem is it doesn't stay together. One month after receiving this and putting it together, the castle is in pieces all over the house and I don't think we'll ever get it back together.

LOVE PLAYMOBILEJan 18, 2007
By annie I love playmobile...even though you have to put everything together just for your 4 year old son to destroy it within minutes. However I have learned to gorilla glue all the peices together while you build it. They last longer that way. Now that my son can't destroy it he plays with it more and more every day. We also have the dragon fortress that he plays with too. Invest in Gorilla Glue..its a beautiful thing!

My son and I love thisJan 01, 2008
By G. Searles I guess I have a different perspective then some of the other reviews here... It does take some time to put together, and yes it can be pulled apart in chunks. However, I actually enjoyed putting it together, it reminded me of putting complicated Lego sets together when I was a kid, and the instructions are excellent. The pieces are made of very high quality plastic, and once the little connector pieces are snapped into place (this is the time consuming part) they don't come out, and the large pieces hold together well through my five year old son's "normal" play. His two-and-a-half year old sister, however, can pull it to pieces, so we have to keep her away from it. Otherwise it's great. The little moving parts like the functional drawbridge and the locking doors are amazing touches, and I think he'll honestly play with this for years. I highly recommend this series of toys, you just have to keep it away from kids under maybe four years of age I'd suggest.

DisappointingNov 01, 2007

After 3 hours of assembly last Christmas, it was in pieces the next day. It was months before we finally put it together again - piece by piece with hot glue and it still came apart and is in pieces once again. AAARGGHH!!! Give me a quality toy that doesn't have to be constantly maintained! I purposely looked for quality toys last year - without batteries and junk plastic parts. This toy seemed to fit the bill, but it did not live up to my expectations. Ditto for the Playmobile pirate ship, but it was even more notorious for lying around in pieces.
