fun and educationalNov 11, 2008
By JD This toy combines all the fun parts about being a kid - building, making music, knocking it down and starting over again! It is great for creativity and also motor skills. My neice likes to change the instruments to create different sounds. Overall this is a lot of toy for the price and the as an added bonus it works with the other blocks she already has from mega.

Mega Bloks makes Good Use of TimeJan 12, 2009

"TwoDogs"
Purchased this as a Chritmas gift for our 6 month old daughter. She is a little young yet to get the full benefits from it but we play together and it is great fun.
The toy has two volume levels and both settings are parent friendly. The piano has an auto play mode or your child can beat on the keys and make their own music.
There are three nursery songs the piano will play, each song is its own blok (Mary had a Little Lamb, Twinkle Twinkle....Old McDonald). There are also three intruments that are linked to bloks (guitar, drums, xylophone) as well as a laughing blok that when plugged in makes all kinds of silly sounds our daughter gets a real kick out of.
The idea behind this piano is you take any of the bloks and plug them in on one of three posts on the top of the piano. The piano recognizes which bloks are plugged in and plays the songs or instruments or both. If you want to hear Mary had a Little Lamb with drums and guitar in the background plug in these three bloks and away you go. I can see this being educational as it allows for many different combinations of songs and instruments so I expect our child will experiment when she gets a little older as we do with her today.
The toy is durable and it has good battery life and is easy to clean. The bloks are big enough for little hands and the keyboard is colorful and easy to play. The only change I would like to see is the depth of the piano is not that great and it will tip over when an excited child with limited control of their limbs gets really pounding on the thing. In all though the weight balance if very good except when the bloks are struck instead of the keys!

Was disappointedJan 13, 2009

"Cole's Cool Mom"
I thought this would be a good toy for my 17 month-old little boy...he has some Mega Bloks at home he plays with and this seemed like a good addition. But it has some issues...for starters, you can't leave it "on" so that he can touch it and it will play. The whole time it's on, it makes a sound periodically. So, you have to leave it off and turn it on whenever he's around. Second, it has 3 different blocks that are supposed to play 3 different songs, but it will play 2 of them at the same time, even though you only have one song block on it. I've yet to really figure it out. I'd check out the different little musical pianos first before selecting this one.

Our 2 year old does not use.Jan 12, 2009
By Cyber Sprocket Labs (HA) We bought this for our 2 1/4 year old son for XMas. He rarely uses it. I think a simple play piano without all the different 'configurations' would be better suited for him. In fact, friends of ours have a child's piano and he loves playing with it.
This toy is crap!Mar 22, 2010
By Ian's Mom I bought this as a birthday present for my 1-year old daughter. Although it came with batteries, I had to replace them right away. I thought, oh, maybe it was a demo or got played with in a store, no big deal. The next day, the batteries were dead AGAIN. The toy wouldn't even turn on. Replaced the batteries TWICE more (with brand-new batteries every time) before giving up entirely. Worse, Amazon will only give me a partial refund because I bought it a month before my daughter's birthday (I like to be prepared!), so it was past the return date. And the manufacturer is in CANADA, and I don't want to pay outrageous shipping just to return a broken toy. If my experience is any indication, this product is cheap and poorly made. Such a shame - it's really a great concept.
