classic, great choiceSep 27, 2011
By Beth Daniels I played with these as a child, but they're long gone. I remember no "official" teaching with them, but just naturally discovering trains, sequence, etc.
I bought these for my children, partially because I wanted to make sure we had plenty of extras. I do *not* think one set is really enough for one child.
One of the things I remember from my childhood set was that each color had its own compartment. Part of the fun was switching the compartments around, and figuring out what patterns you could fit in the same spaces. This set does NOT offer that opportunity, and it does NOT fit neatly back into the box as pictured. They end up vaguely piled in the box like the bulk lego bin.
All said, though, I'm glad I bought them. I think three sets will stay at our house, and three will be gifts.
