perfect toyApr 24, 2008
By Sigrun Hreinsdottir I have been trying to find toys for my 7 month old that make some noise but are not too irritating for parents. Found it! Now I just wish that I had bought this 5 months ago. My seven month old just loves it and it took him no time at all to figure it out. It is really easy for him to use, the rolling is ideal for babies instead of the simple banging. And I can well imagine that this would suite a babies from maybe 2 to 3 months and up. As I said, wish I had bought it few months ago to get more lifetime out of it. On the negative. To my musical ear I wish they had used 8 notes and have them from e.g. C to C. The 5 notes don't really make a nice musical instrument. But then I guess it would have been too bulky. I guess you can't have it all. But so far the best music toy I have found for babies.

My baby loves this !Feb 15, 2008
By A. Brown The Fisher-Price Rainbow Piano is a perfect addition for us Rainforest fans. My 6 month old loves to bat at the colorfol wheels that bring rewarding music. Each is a different tune and even fun for my older ones to try to play a song. The xylophone style piano is sturdy with a perfect carrying handle. Love the animals that are raised for baby to feel. I can see this toy bringing enjoyment for a long while.

OK, but the notes chosen are annoying!Oct 12, 2008
By Bridge with a t I bought this for my son who is still a little too young for this (He'll be 5 months this week). When looking for entertainment, I grab it sometimes and play a few little songs on it for him. He likes to listen sometimes. So far he only spins the spinners with his feet and not his hands (how he figured that out I don't know!).
The thing that kills me on this and the reason I only gave it 2 stars is that whoever designed this must not have been a musical person. I am a music teacher so this is really irritating to hear--the notes from left to right on the toy are F, G, A, B, C. The B should be a B-flat for a proper scale. When you play the notes in order the B natural (yellow) just sounds terrible b/c it does not belong in that scale. My friends are joking and probably rightly so that my son is going to grow up with a funky musical scale in his head and think it's correct. I think the only things I could play on this were Hot Cross Buns, Mary Had a Little Lamb and the theme from Dvorak's New World Symphony. If they had made that a B-flat instead of B natural then we'd have endless possibilities!

My daughter is diagnosed with Down Syndrome and is low tone. She has minimal upper body strength and at 7 months is unable to sit up without assistance. This roller piano is great. She actually uses her fingers to roll the keys. There is a reward for her action because of the music. There are too few of these toys available. The only improvement that can be made is if there was a leg or something to prop it up higher so that when she sits up she will be motivated to stay in an upright position.

Great Developmental Toy!Sep 17, 2009
By Book Worm Im not sure why so many people are complaining.
Yes there is a bit of a learning curve AT first. But everything is a learning curve for a baby.
It took about a week for my daughter (3 months at the time) to roll it fast enough to make noise. Shes 8 months now and runs up to it and bats at it with glee.
And to whom ever said the notes were off. You need to try them out at the store. Not all of them are in tune. I think it has something to do with the different widths of metal.
But with that said its a fairly cheap toy ( i think i payed 14 dollars at walmart), what do you expect? Its still great quality though.
I've since then, purchased three more for other babies and only heard great reviews back.
