Best Baby Doll EverJul 24, 2010

We bought this doll for our 22 month old daughter who is OBSESSED with baby dolls. My husband thinks she has too many-some are cloth, and some are just cheapie Target dolls. She became very interested in one that had eyes that closed and opened, so we bought her one from a discount store-only to have it lose function of one eye in the laundry. We decided to buy just one more doll- only this time only a high quality one would do. It had to have eyes that opened and shut, be washable, small enough for her to carry around everywhere, and not have that creepy doll look. You know what I'm talking about. Well, this little Calin doll met all of our expectations and more. She smells just lovely- so subtly of vanilla. She has such a sweet little face, and is weighted perfectly. As soon as I handed her to my daughter, she said, "heavy baby!" in delight. Of all her babies, this is the first she has taken to bed with her. The quality is unmatched compared to any other I've seen meant for playing with. This little doll will quickly become her favorite; you will not be disappointed. Her "skin" is made of non-PVC plastic and has no phthalates; I don't know of any other company that can make that claim. With all the kissing this little doll will have to endure, that is definitely a good thing. :) Wash in a pillowcase on gentle cycle.

My daughter loves her babies - she takes them everywhere, sleeps with them, bathes with them, drags them across the pavement, and throws them down the stairs. And the doll is fine - the eyes work and the peanut butter and egg has wiped off just fine. The scent is mild enough that it doesn't bother me (though I was annoyed that it was scented to begin with) and it's just the right size for my 18 month old and her wagon. We got this "multi-cultural" baby and the "black" baby. They don't look as creepy as the Asian baby (whose eyes do not shut). My only complaint is the dolls come dressed in ugly ugly pink clothes. But since my daughter appears to prefer her babies naked, we got rid of the clothes pretty quickly. I recommend this doll for anyone who has a kid obsessed with baby dolls. They are very well made and don't have the weird look that a lot of other baby dolls have. Plus, if you're ethnically beige, this doll is more acceptable than the blue-eyed blonde one this company also offers.

After looking over pages and pages of choices I found Darling and knew that she was to be my daughter's first baby doll. She has had soft dolls that I have sewn and crocheted for her, but Darling is her first vinyl doll. She was the perfect choice. I gave her when my daughter reached 18 months. She still plays with Darling and will be 4 in 2 days. The clothes are easy on and off, though not at first for an 18 month old. Everything is high quality. No loose threads, even stitching, nothing loosening or falling apart with constant use, and sometimes abuse from "the Uncles" (7 and 8 year old brothers).
Darling inspired me to choose to buy Tidoo Sherbert when my daughter turned 2, and now for my daughter's 4th birthday Chloe from the Les Cheries collection.
You won't be disappointed with a Corolle doll. They are excellent choices! I see other dolls and wonder what all the hype is about, they are not as nice, as the Corolle dolls and many are way more expensive.

This is a wonderful doll, but I was so disappointed that a slightly different model was sent. I sought the multiple-ethnic Darling model with dark brown eyes and light brown skin. Instead I received a blue eyed beautiful baby, the Sorbet model. May try ordering again from a seller different from Kites Tails & Toys.

"Grandma"
I gave this doll to my granddaughter for her first birthday. She is now 19 months old. My daughter just kept it in the original box, out of reach, just to look at, until today when my granddaughter pointed to it, and wanted it. My daughter opened it for her, and she immediately began cuddling, kissing and loving it! My daughter called me to tell me how much she liked it. My daughter says it is very soft and sweet smelling. I'll be getting my granddaughter another Corolle doll for Christmas! I couldn't give it five stars for durability only because we don't know that yet.
